2nd Digibox and UK P2 Card

    Hi,
I have been using a UK P2 card for the last 6 months or so and it is working fine in my existing digibox.
I decided to buy a 2 hand digibox so I wouldn't have to keep swapping cards. (Lazy bugger). I was of the opinion that all I had to do was simply put the card in the 2nd box and away I go as my card is active. But no joy, I get a message to contact Sky.
(I know I will need a dual or quad LNB, but for now I am trying out the 2nd box and card)
    Any ideas on this?

Also, the digibox I got second hand is a Grundig and is only picking up 25% signal quality, compared to 80% on my existing Grundig (both same make and model).
Have I got a damaged digibox?

Try doing a SW update. I bet it has the old P1 SW only.

Hold Backup on frontpanel while inserting mains plug.

Try this without a card in the box.

The signal levels / quality vary between models of same brand and SW version!

It *might* be broken, but could be fine.

If the FTA channels work, the box is fine.

    Hi Watty,
Thanks for your help. I did the software update and the card is now working.
But the signal quality is still poor and the picture keeps freezing. Would a slight alignment of the dish do the trick or would a bigger dish be better.
Finally, when using a dual or quad LNB is there any drop in signal.
    Thanks

Is the signal quality the same on the other box?
If not it could be the cable you used.

Last question-there should be no drop in signal.

    Earthman,
I am using the same cable. My origional box gives 80% signal Quality and the new (2nd hand) one gives only 20-30%.
    It must be faulty !!!
