Mixtwitch Return from America (NY, SXSW, LA, Motor Studios)

Mixtwitch have just returned from their unforgettable 3 week trip to the States. They played a couple of shows in New York City, including an instore in HMV 5th Avenue, followed by some club shows. After New York, they headed down to the massive South by South West (SXSW) industry conference and festival in Austin, Texas, where their Thursday night slot was the “Pick of the Day” in the Austin Chronicle. After their showcase, the band stayed around for the weekend where they met up with and saw sets by Art Alexakis of Everclear, Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms, Bowling for Soup and NOFX.

From Texas the band headed to Hollywood for one show. Their trip then culminated in San Francisco where they recorded a 4-track EP with legendary punk rock producer Ryan Greene (NOFX, Lagwagon, Pulley, No Use etc. etc.) in Motor Studios. Five days later, Mixtwitch had made their best ever recordings which should help them finally make a breakthrough in America in the coming months.

A full American Diary will appear, with tonnes of photos on www.mixtwitch.com in the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you’ve never been to the site, go now. Keep in touch with all goings on; tours, shows, releases etc, download some mp3’s, read reviews, look at some old tour diaries, stupid photos etc. Also there’s loadsa new merch, which I promise will be the height of fashion for Summer 04, or buy an album or two. And, while you’re at it sign up for the Mixtwitch newsletter (it’s not one of those ****ing newsletters that arrives 7 times every week with no info, this one only goes out when they’ve got news). And they plan on having lots of news in the next few months.
