Could you program an Irish version of HotorNot.com,... with a twist?

It should be as accessible on the new generation of MMS capable mobile phones (with WAP) as on the Web. [may need to integrate with a backend service like Puca.ie ?? ]

Basically the site should work quite similarly to HotorNot.com but with specific interface adaptations.

This would be a one-off contract but may require maintenance and upgrades if the service takes off (and I think that 'twist' will help it to do just that). ;)

PM me if you can do the job. I'm flexible about how we'd work it - open to partnership suggestions where you'd be the techie and I'd take care of the marketing, for instance.

    -Jim.

    Bit of advice.
Dont put your business ideas on an open forum.

    someone may steal them...

Thanks pebble. I did think long and hard about being so open with the idea, but I'm fairly sure that the 'twist' (the secret ingredient) is unlikely to be sussed by what I mention here.

Secondly, I blog quite a bit about entrepreneurship in Ireland and I'm interested in pursuing this idea in a kind of 'open-source' manner with feedback from interested parties should they wish to give it.

Perhaps this isn't the appropriate forum to progress that particular angle so I might duplicate this to the Business forum for that purpose if it wouldn't be seen as advertising or a breach of other rules.

I could do it, but not at all intersted in a short term contract.

It is always useful to know who has what skills in the area you are looking, but it may be worth your while waiting until you know exactly what you are doing, what you want done, and how you are going to go about doing it to, before seeking the right person.

I think though if you do want to discuss it in more detail, the business forum is indeed the correct place. Unless you want to find a business analyst to develope your idea :)

Ah, I think I should have been clearer in what I said - I do know what I want done so I should not have said that I'd like to develop the idea in a 'open-source' manner, rather that I'd like to try implementing the idea in an 'open-source' manner.

The idea is nailed down alright but for the purpose of openly documenting the implementation and marketing sides of it I've decided to 'go-public' now. I just thought it might make an interesting and illustrative experiment for other entrepreneurs with internet-based business ideas.

I'll move it to the Business forum now. Thanks,

    -Jim.
