Try not using the lastest drivers. See what drivers other people used, and use those. The lastest ain't always the greatest.

Also, make sure that your chip is set to run in AGP4x mode. Its possible it auto-configured itself to PCI mode, or AGP1x mode, or something rediculous like that.

Other than that all i can recommend is a full format, and reinstall and see if that helps, but thats a fairly drastic measure!

When you first install A.T.I. cards the Antiscopic filtering and anti aliasing settings are normally turned up to the max. It was on mine anyway. Go to display properties in the ati control panel. Then click on the 3d tab and make sure the graphics bar is set to the centre (balanced) on both direct3d and open gl.

    That should sort you out.

Which 3dmark did you test it on and what score did you get.

If it was 2003 a drop to 2-3 fps is quite likely during certain scenes with that card.

Are you having any trouble with games?

Nothing wrong with your card mate. 3dmark2003 is pretty intensive on the graphics card. Even my 9800XT drops down to 4-5 fps in one or two of the scenes.

The new nvideas are about the only card that get good frame rates right throughout the demo. Man I want one of them. Even though it will be about 2 years before any game really necesitates one of them.

Thinking of selling my 9800XT and risking importing one from the states hoping customs won't notice it.

Any offers for the XT?(without HL2 btw)
