tattoo questions

hi i was hoping to get a tattoo with my kids and wifes name .Haven't got a clue where to go ,prices.designs ,does it f**king hurt .
any help would be appreciated

Thats a nice thought mate.
Id suggest Celestial Ring in the Stephens Green shopping centre.
Its one of the cleanest places ive ever been in and the staff are really friendly.
For prices you are looking at about €80 per hour,depending on the size of the tatoo will decide your price,they should be able to give you a ballpark figure before they start.
Painwise ; it all depends on where you get tatoo'ed,anywhere that you can feel your bones(back etc..) will be extremely sore whereas places with lots of meat(like your ass) wont be ass painful.
One ting to remember tho is book in advanced as tatoo parlours wont let you walk straight in and get done.

I agree with Vader, Celestial Ring are one of the best places to get inked.

As for designs, why not go have a chat to the artists themselves? They`d be able to help you out, after all, its their job!

And pain? its like getting sunburnt.

Artattoo, which is the old sacredart place on Fownes Street. I am dead happy with my latest, done by Marco. Recommend them :cool:

I have one tattoo round my wrist done by artattoo, now granted it's a tricky place to heal, mine seriously lost a lot of ink, despite care, and they actually wanted to charge me the same again (€130) for the touch up session.

I dont know, bad service, maybe a one off.

I got my ass tatoo'd a few years back. Sorest thing that i've ever had done.

I went in with the assumption that it wouldn't be as sore as my arm or back as it's just a big lump of fat, ain't it? Boy was i worng.

My tattooist told me just as we were about to start that it was going to hurt a bit and pointed out that the ass is one massive muscle with nerve endings all over it.

It's my smallest tattoo but i had to get him to stop half way thru it so i could get a drink of water.

hmm. i put up with 45 mins of hell getting my lower back done. my that hurt. my ex's hand will never be the same. i reckon no matter where u get it done itll hurt roughly the same amount. some can handle it and some cant (like boys. boys are stoopid)

im going in for number 7 pretty soon. going to celestial ring. have had them done in dragon on talbot st, miss fantasia and got my last one done in australia. man that was the coolest place ever! it was in melbourne down near king street and the place was a pub!!! it was this really cool biker pub and at the back beside the bar (in full view of the pool players) there was this platform where u went up and got done. it was unbelievably clean and u might think it'd be dangerous (ie: getting locked and wanting a tat) but these guys are SO strict about drinkin b4 hand. AND to top it all off....the guy who did was born in dublin.

while im not big on getting people's names....i reckon a really nice irish script on the inside of ur forearm. not like the big mess on david beckhams arm but something subtle. but like the others said, check it out with the artist. in my experience they're always delighted to help.

as for pain....i dunno i always just found it uncomfortable. the one on my lower back was the worst! but only cos it took 3 hours (while i was meant to be studying for my leavin!) its kinda like a burn, like rubbing.

totally addictive though.

putting the finishes on the design for number 7....already have number 8 in mind!
