Lack of motivation

I’ve lost what little motivation I had left, back in the day I’d usually get an assignment and wait till the last few days before it’s due to look at it. However now I just plain don’t do it or do it half assed and can’t bring myself to finish an assignment even though I know it’s going to mess me up and it’s due in the morning. Any tips ?

    You sound burnt out.

When is the last time you had a holiday or spent a lot of quality time just by yourself, pondering life? You know, walking along the beach just thinking about things...

It's always works wonders for me.

Well when i come to think of it the last 7 weeks have been pretty harsh. The good news is that this assignment is going swimmingly and seems piss easy

Good, get it done and then take some time to yourself. It's frighteningly easy to get apathetic and uncaring about work when you're under lots of pressure.

One of my favourite things to do is to take a day off and see umpteen films. I mean 2 and 4 o'clock matinee showings while they're cheap, and then rent dvds from xtravision, and try to catch up on films that you missed.

Go for a herbal bath and a good old colonic... That'll put the bounce back in your ounce

I'm also in a rut @ the mo!

Can't get myself going in work & my final exam ever is on next Tuesday ... do you think I can get myself going for it

Boards & Pokerroom are the bane of my existance @ the mo! Why is it I can get engrossed in a book/playing poker or posting/reading on Boards, but I can't get myself going to complete an audit or study some accountancy

/edit I'm sorry Boards & Pokerroom, I didn't mean to give out about you ... you are the reason for my existence :D

Yeah I'm feeling the same myself. It sucks. I'm in fifth year at the moment so it's not like I've got my leaving cert coming up, but I just find myself finding other things to do in order to avoid the aul homework/study. Arghh. I didn't even feel like browsing boards but the thing is I should be doing study so I gotta find some distraction. Cursed summer exams. I have no idea why I can't just do it. I just have great difficulty in getting started. Maybe I'm just doomed to be a lazy bastard for all eternity.

I feel somewhat the same, and I think it affects my work. I typed up an article which had elements of sarcasm, and was quite condescending. It doesn't help that I know most of this stuff I'm learning for class already... :/

Hey if your caring this much in 5th year you'll do grand in 6th year, cause when I was in 5thi didn't really do any study either just messin about! my advice, give up booze, hash and angeldust after xmas in 6th year and you will find things go swimmingly!
