audigy 2 line in volume

i have an audigy 2 with a guitar plugged into the line in socket but even with the line in volume up to the last i cant get the guitar anywhere near as loud as i can get regular pc sounds is there a way to make the line in louder?

if there's a "mic in" use that.

if not you'll need to amplify the signal somehow, maybe using the line out of a guitar amp if you have one.

just did a quick google and this might be of use.
