My mate's machine uses a Q-Tec PSU ATX 400W Dual Fan PSU. The fan on the back of this noisy monster has stopped spinning. Now, It's only about a month old so RMA'ing it should not be a problem, but is it entirely necessary? There's been no performance issues (it's a dual fan unit) but is it dangerous (ie could the unit burst into flames from overheating?) or is it likely to cause other hardware problems...?

One reason for possibly not changing it is that its now rather quiet!!

    Any advice?

The case will heat up loads, if you are intending to run the pc with not cooling. I'm sure the PSU will heat up loads, it has a massive transformer, so that will generate heat. Don't run it other words.... these things have fans for a reason.
