Most Haunted

Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever watched Most Haunted on Living TV? I've watched it a good few times, and this and Ghostbusters pretty much set me on the way to wanting to be a Parapsychologist.

They do Most Haunted Live as well, which is quite good. I heard one or two things from the camera when they were at the birthplace of Shakespeare.

    Any comments, thoughts, etc?

Yeah, I've watched it and makes for good tv. But that's all I think. They make a meal out of small incidents and Derek Acora(spelling?) is just a weee bit too detailed in his channeling.

yea i watch it too and while derek is slightly over the top i do believe theres something to it. even the fear on yvette's face seems very real.

did u c the one where they were in a club and they were trying to contact ruth ellis? that was very cool.

i dunno i think either u believe or ya dont and u'd have to be a believer to enjoy the show.

eh...i think its a lil fake...like...the earlier episode they had huge audience crowds outside cheering them on ,,,,,,like hello?......like any ghost is gona stay around with a whole group of rowdy people outside......lights etc set up all over the place.....there are much better programmes....there was one once...that scared the be-jesas out of me!!

this family had to move 3 times to get away from it and the small film crew followed them everywhere.....i was pissin my self the whole time......some of the shots in it was one of the young kids on a swing out in the back yard.....the 'being' or whatever it was...spun the swing she was one 360 degrees....you saw the whole thing..

the poor girl flew a good few feet and sprained her ankle....the same house.......i know this sounds real corney....but the camera got it all...up close etc.....a yellow sticky liquid started oozing out of the crack in the walls.....the camera man was touching it and as it was placed on his finger.....it evaporated off.......

they setup 24/7 cameras and in the middle of the night...the dog was grabbed by some force by the tail and scooted across the floor......i was freakin out....lol......there real paranormal programmes.........hehe ;)

Most haunted live is quite funny to watch, it is simply fake. I enjoy listening to local ghost stories experienced by normal people who have had no teaching in paranormal activity and have no incentive to make up a fake story. I especially like the non-dramatic ones, they are alot more realistic and believable. Like, do you really believe that a ghost would pick up knives and start throwing them at you? G'luck

The live ones are a bit onthe dodgy side. But I think the others are definetly real, if not it's amazing acting on the part of the crew. Pity they don't do more in Ireland.

Derek acora is freaky going into transis & evet fielding being the lead presenter is easily spooked did you see the episode where the team of lads where provoking a poltergiest "with you dont frighting us" and there was a bang and the tv came on and one of the lad shid under the covers?

I Googled one of the locations they did as soon as they said where they were and within three minutes I had the same, if not more info as/than Derek.

Can anyone comment on a few of the scepticle(??) things that have crossed my mind when watching:

    1) These spirits or energys do not have mass or wear boots, how do they make audible footsteps?

    2) "Orbs". Why is this the only thing we ever see - can we rule out wind/draughts blowing dust past the night vision cameras? They always have they same kind of momentum. Why not larger / hover / clearer?

    3) Why don't the spirits just show themselves instead of all these extremely tenuos "apparitions?

    4) Most importantly, Yvette Fieling is the exec producer of the show! Her husband is the producer/director - her brother is a cameraman / soundman! It is in there interest to have some kind of "experience" each episode.

    5) WHAT is the story with Sam? Why does Derek talk out load to him? Why does Sam not appear or how come none of the crew sense Sam? How come Sam never gets into a fight with any of the Evil spirits?

    Any ideas / comments?

how does a poltergeist move objects around a house? just because you cant see it doesnt mean its not there.

i guess its what we see because its the way the spirit wants to present itself....perhaps its the only way it can present itself. also there are people who make a profession out of deciphering fake from genuine footage and these are often featured at the end of the programme.

maybe they just dont want to! :D

yea this is all true and there is no comment you can make in response to that because at the end of the day a sceptic will always be a sceptic unless they experience something themselves.

i think sam is like dereks guide. thats why only derek can talk to him and none of the others can sense him. as for him not getting into any fights.....maybe he's just too nice for that! :P

anyway im in no way suggesting that Most Haunted is completely genuine and as its for tv and ratings are needed im sure there is often exaggeration. however i do think that there are genuine occurances of events like the ones on the show.
perhaps you should attend one of the hunts that malico and kennett et al are organising, could be a real eye opener. i'll hopefully be going to the next one too.

I kept on seeing orbs, they're like white circle-yokes that whizzed around everywhere... I think some were picked up on camera too...

Whenever i get the chance to watch it, my family comment on how stupid it is and that im "above that kind of intelligence".

But i just watch it cos its different and i always hav an open mind toward the paranormal. I like derek cos whether he's an actor or not, he's watchable and keeps me entertained. Plus he seems to like wat he does, which makes it easier to watch.

He did a couple of other shows as well, like The Antiques Ghost Show and The 3 Psychics, I believe...

Antiques dude: "Ah! A nineteenth centuary original for a collection brought out during the second world war! He's in pristine condition and even has his original, ableit seethrough, teeth! I haven't seen one like this for years! I would expect it to fetch upwords of €100,000 at an auction!"

Woman:"Oh my! I had no idea!"

I don't know what to make of Most Haunted either, though the highlights of the series on DVD is pretty good and worth getting if you've missed the shows.

I noticed last week that Derek Acorah is appearing at the Helix (DCU) in September for one of his mediumship nights. I'm tempted to go along and see him in person and see what it's like.

I'd say it'd be worth a look... I'd almost be tempted myself to go...

i am new to all this paranormal stuff but truly believe in it all. as for most haunted me and my girlfriend are avid viewers and watch it every week. now since we have watched it since season 1 we are now annoyed as to why there is not a thing on screen apart from orbs. but now seen as the show has progressed it is alot better and far more beleiveavble. the one during the week actually showed poltergest activity where a box was moved in a underground jail. this was beleiveable. also once a spoon was thrown over the crews head.

as for mr acorah he supposedly is not told were the hunt is on thus his revelations are all suppose to come from the spirits themselves this i also beleive and i would be most interested in seeing him myself

Our very own in-forum paranormal team, PRAI is investigating Charleville Forst Castle in County Offaly. You may have seen Charleville Castle featured in Most Haunted.

Anyway, if you're interested, the site is at:

    http://www.prai.net.ms

Look for the current investigation link and check it out :)

PS: Thanks for the Derek Acorah link :)
