How big an impact will a 4x slot have on the performance of the graphics card?

Yeah, I've heard the same thing. Don't know if it's a case of the bus itself not offering signifigantly better performance, or if it's a case of graphics cards not being able to fill the capacity.

8x Graphics Cards arent powerful enough to use all the bandwidth offered by 8x AGP Ports. That wont be the case with the new nVidia's and Ati which are on their way.

unless you're running extreme;y high resolutions, with graphics quality up full etc etc, you won't come near maxing out the bandwidth... and your card is more likley to max out than the bus bandwdith.
