Hi i just came back from the north today with my hard disks only to find that when i put them back in, they wouldnt boot. I messed around a bit and discovered that if i used the IDE cables usually reserved for my cd drives it would eventually boot. I checked the bios and everything is normal, i have three hard disks and one cd-rom drive. But now its only possible to use two hard disks. Sucks monkey ballz. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
    I using a Dell Dimension 4300.

Did you change the jumper settings to use them in another PC?

I have a spare cable, tried that, didnt work. Now my problem revolves around monkey balls too. Ive been dealth a bad hand. The hard disks work. To be honest, thats all i give a damn about. What the hell happened tho? It was fine. I kno my jumpers off by heart, software disk=master, video disk=slave, mp3 disk= cable select. Checked the pins on the power, jumper pins and the IDE pins, all fine, well.... obviously, otherwise i would'nt be here,Thank hell i am. Hope i rectify the situation. Or get a new p.c. That would be sweet. Running off IDE's for cd-drives does'nt feel right. ARGHH!

    Thanks guys.
