Checking Ram type without opening case?

    How do I check the ram type from the desktop? ie pc3200/2700 etc.
    Also how can you check the hard drive speed?

    just go into the bios on boot, usuall gives you your memory type on the first screen

    Not much use if your memory settings in the BIOS are wrong though :eek:

    Belarc Advisor - free, fast and small - only 594KB. If it doesn't give you your hard disk speed, it'll give you the model number, and you can google from there.
