When playing a rom, say Mario Kart, is it possible to save your position in the game? I've tried and it just comes up as "save not successful".

Use savestates. If your problem is with savestates then it is probably because the savestate directory is not configured. Make sure the path for the savestates leads to a directory that exists. It would help if you told us whet emulator you were using.

Mario Kart on the Snes or N64?
    What emulator are you using?
Are you using the latest version of that particular emulator?

It's the ZsnesW for windows. Yeah it is a problem with the savestate directory. I'll have a look at its configuration when I am using the emulator later ( It's on my home comp., not the one I'm using now).

I'll post here again if I'm still having problems. I have only ever used mega drive emulators before and never had any probs, maybe I just overlooked something with the snes one.

    Thanks Retr0gamer and LoGiE.

I just sorted the whole thing out. The emulator I was using was given to me by a friend. I went to the zsnes website and downloaded the latest version for win32.

I don't know what version he gave me and it might have been for Dos not win32. I have windows XP so maybe this was the reason behind it all.:ninja:

I've a feeling that you probably got the emulator on a CD and when you copied it the config file was kept as read-only and couldn't be changed. It's happened to me before.
