easiest game engine to mod

hi. anyone familiar with a game engine that is easily modable to produce non game content. let me explain without giving away my idea

looking for something where you can replace models, textures, backgrounds, etc. and script the character to specific movements. what im really looking for is a game engine that will allow me to make cutscenes to scripted movements and camera freedom. i dont want to make a complete modification to a game, just to make cutscenes from an existing game with my own textures and models if possible.

Well half-life is fairly easy to modify but it looks cack so i'd say maybe you should try the new Farcry engine. The map editor is brilliant. The 3d view is amazing as you can see the game play out and hear sounds etc.

half life is easily modifiable (sp?) but not for your purposes and especially if youve not done it before, id imagine far cry would be difficult aswell, maybe q3? dunno

From what i seen to make movies with q3 is best.
check out ww.modtheater.com for more info RTCW ET is built on it and comes complete with source and there a guide to making your own videos.

Would say half life also but its old looking and still a teeeny bit of like in q3.

yea half life would be the easiest imo.. but it looks rubbish. q3 can look great, farcry would be awesome.

I changed my mind, Adnans go for Farcry i made a cut scene in about 2 minutes and then skins and other textures are TGA and DDS so easily moddable with Photoshop.
This game has everything you need to make porn moves or whatevet you want.

This my new modding mission, full support and manuals from install and what a game!

@Scree for instance Quake comes in 5 PAK files if you add another with your own map and skins it will be PAK6 If you host a server and it uses PAK6 anyone who joins without PAk6 wont be there for long, if you join a server with a mod running and you dont have it ,you wont be there for long you will be kicked.

Half Life has an option to allow users to Dload mods from the server (a crazy crazy bandwidth eating idea but it works i suppose)

thanks everyone for the feedback. ill get farcry after the exams and try my skills. i've checked out machinima while ago. thats where my ideas come from.
