Iam looking at a new gfx card as my 64mb Geforce Mx440 is feeling the strain a bit
had a look on Komplett.ie and saw 9800 Pro is there much difference between the Ultimate Edition and the standard 9800 Pro ?

    NO

It usually just means what software you get with the card e.g. Games etc...

The ultimate edition comes with silent cooling (AFAIK its passive) while the normal edition comes with a noisey little bugger of a fan.

The software differences are when comparing the regular 9800pro's with the "lite" edition, lite edition basicaly meaning it comes with no "frills" which just means no games.

You would be better off getting a 9800pro for €205 (www.jes-computer.de) and an Artic cooler €11 (same place) for silent performance!! The ultimate is overpriced TBH.

The Ultimate is over-priced, but as removal of the heatsink voids the warranty then it could be a valid alternative to an Arctic Cooler for those who want a silent card but aren't comfortable working with heatsinks.

If you do decide to go the Arctic cooler route I advise you test the card thoroughly before you go messing with the heatsink, as otherwise you might end up with a dud you can't send back.
