Worst recruitment agency in Ireland?

I want people to name and shame the worst recruitment agencies in Ireland!

My own personal favourite would be Hays IT, Aileen in particular. Never have I met such a conceited, two-faced bunch! I know agencies don't give a sh1t about job seekers but this company takes the biscuit. They surprised me with their enthusiasm and frequent contact before an interview, but once you don't get a job they have sent you for, they don't take your phone calls and ignore your emails until you get very blunt with them, and then they bullsh1t you and lie that their contact in the company they sent you to is 'out of the country'.

    Post more experiences here!

    Richmond/Marlborough

Hard to choose between either not being paid by marlborough for 3 months(had to stay working was on a promise of perm contract, which i got from company),or Richmond not paying our workers and getting me attacked as they thought it was my fault.

CPL. They interviewed me for pre-screening purposes before sending my CV on to the company involved. It turned out that they never sent my CV on despite claiming that they did.

I had a recent run in with hays actually.....

    Andy Moffat?

Pretty much the same expirience as eth0 was calling me on a regular basis before the interview.

the interview day was changed on numerous occasions times were changed then the location was changed then it turned into a phone interview then it was another location.

a very messy affair after passing a very strange technical test over the phone (not hays it's fault)

off we go again on the face to face interview roundabout, times changed location changed.

by the time i actually got to the interview i was so pissed off with the messing around i showed very little intrest in it as this outsourcing company seemed as badly organised as hays IT.

after pissing around in the rain all day trying to get to it, it lasted about 10 minutes very odd interview no technical questions in the actuall interview for a fairly technical job.

maybe i was wearing the wrong aftershave....

and then no word from THEM or HAYS IT

I didn't bother contacting them to find out what happened at this stage i don't care.

and if anyone from hays IT rings me again..........

    epeople.ie
For sending my CV to a completely different job I had applied for without telling me, and subsequently telling me I should do the interview - for practice. I rang the company and told them what happened, and they rang epeople and had words :D. Naturally epeople got back on to me and couldn't seem to get the idea that I'd applied for a specific job, not for every bloody job on the planet. Your man ended up hanging up on me mid sentence .

    Computer Futures
For spamming my (ex)employer with faxes and letters after I mistakenly applied for a job they'd advertised. Never heard from them otherwise. Interestingly if you saw what they'd send - i.e. weekend specials on programmers going cheap, CVs under the guise of an approved job search (that are completely unrelated to what your company does) I would never grace them with my CV again.

    D.

I've also heard of him, I think. A friend of mine has some people working on his team who are contractors through Hays and iirc he mentioned his name, apparently they're really f*cked around with getting paid, despite having time sheets in on time etc...

    Keep 'em coming, guys!

Have to say I found them all as bad as one another. Once I had a contract it was fine. But when you're looking they just don't want to know.

Incredibly hard to pick just one crap agency when you have so many contenders. Personally, I've been screwed around by Verkom (or whatever they were called previously) and several others. I'd love to get a job as a recruitment agent... then I'd get to be snotty and talk down to people over the phones all day every day. That must be great stress relief.

CPL did the exact same thing to me. Last year I applied for a contract in Ireland while I was living in the states, I'm from Ireland and wanted to come back for a while. After speaking to a person a CPL I was told my resume was put forward but they weren't interested. Two weeks later I got a call, magically the company was now interested in a phone interview. I did the phone interview and got the contract the next day. After I was working there a while I had a conversation with my manager about my hiring. She told me my resume appeared after they told CPL all the other candidates were not what they wanted. My manager was pissed off when I told her I had applied a lot earlier and my resume was with held by CPL, a project got delayed for a couple of months because of it. A CPL recruiter lied directly to me on the phone on several occasions and I am even more cynical than ever about recruiters.

    CPL and Fastnet

Have had enough of all of them though. Steer well clear is what I advise. If they cant be arsed to tell you what company you might be applying to in the first place instead of all this 'Our Client' s.hit that says enough.

worst would have to be stelfox, followed by cpl and computer futures.

best one by far so far (and the only one i could even think of recommending) would be computer people, specifically stephen, really nice bunch of people, professional but still made me feel very relaxed to be around. had 2 contracts with them so far and even though one of them ended badly i still have a very good relationship with them, and would recommend them to any IT contractors out there looking for a good agency. i even got invited to their xmas do, even though I'd not worked for them for over a month, and they kept buying me drinks all night to the point where i couldn't keep up with them (and thats saying something). even put on a nice buffet with loads of grub too.

and they introduced me to my current accountants (cXc Global) who are top notch too.

    They are all awful

When the economy was good, they wree continuously ringing me in work offering me jobs, even though I regularily told them not to contact me in work.

Now, they don't even asnwer my e-mails.

    Pack of scumbags...
