I am just wondering if anyone has been to the canari islands and seen the huge amount of electrical stores selling digital video cameras, digital still cameras, mobile phones etc., at a quarter of the price available in ireland.

Does any1 know if these are genuine, robbed or...?

I know they may not come with a guarentee but has anyone bought any of these or have any advise on it? Thanks

yes i got my digital camera in lanzorote

i here they are gray market stuff whatever that means, something like the warranty is only applicable in the country you bought it so if brought my camera back to canon here they'd tell me where to go but i could be wrong.

advice yes yes i have. know exactly what you want before you go there don't decide on your holidays like i did that i suddenly needed a digital camera. have you mind made up and a price set. visit all the different shops to get the best price you can, don't be afraid to walk away from em.

what ending up happening to me was that i felt i was conned, i was gonna get a digital camera and an mp3 capable cd player, the guy ended up convincing me to get a dearer camera, i decide to go back and try to change it for the cheaper camera and the mp3 player (yes i know i'm a muppet) and suddenly the camera that i wanted that was on the shelf a minute ago had dissappeared to the other branch

it wasn't too bad the slighly newer version of the camera back home was something like 550 in pixels, while i got my for 350 + a 64mb card but i felt like the end of my holiday was ruined.

caveat emptor anyway i won't make the same mistake again
