I'm getting tired of upgrading a bit at a time and considering selling my whole PC and buying a whole new one. In order to budget I need to have an idea of what I would get for selling my current box. This is where you guys come in. I'd like to know realistically what it's worth as a whole but if you want to tell me what the components are worth individually (I know how Boards ppl like to strip any PC that's offered for sale) that would help too.
    Here goes:

    Shuttle XPC SN45g
    AMD Athlon XP 2400+
    512MB Crucial DDR 2700 (2x256)
    WD Caviar SE 80GB
    WD Caviar SE 120GB
    ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
    Pioneer 106 DVD Writer
    Nortel Networks 802.11b PCI card
    Compaq 1825 (I think) 18" TFT
    ****e mouse and keyboard

    Be kind but realistic!

A very rough guess but I'd say around €1300

I'm sure there's members here that will give you a much better estimate, I'm not sure what those monitors are making so my estimate could be way wide of the mark:)

    probably sell the tft separately.

I would say 600 for the pc and 450 for the tft if in good condition.

i'd say 1200-1300 is about right due to the nice fancy monitor

    shuttle and processor about 250
    bout 100 for the ram
    bout 100 for the rewriter
    bout 150 for the hdd's
    bout 150 for the radeon
bout 500 for the monitor i'd say

thats just an estimate i've no idea how much the wireless card is worth and you'll get more for it if you don't see it here i reckon

Yea id say thats pretty realistic but definetly id be selling the monitor seperatly.

Id think €1,100 -1,250 here on the boards, mabye a shade more. Good monitor all the same.

Before you decide to sell on boards take heed :)

1st reply will be for one part which you may sell as a week has passed and no other offers received then another so 2 pieces sold in 1 week and then nothing it drifts of the page and is never seen again and you left with some of a pc and not enough to buy another and few pieces short of a full kit.

Try Buy and Sell if you want cold hard cash most people (ie not boards users) assume if its in the buy and sell its a bargain so you could add to its original price and still get lots of cash for it.

Anyway i offer 300 for the TFT :D

Yeah a lot of people on boards tend to know exactly how much stuff is worth. You would get more money in the buy and sell. Stick it in there for e1500 o.n.o.

That sounds like the voice of experience KdjaC :)

How long did it take you to build up a working PC again?

I don't think it would make sense to sell the lot, either here or in B+S at the moment with upgrading in mind. At the moment I'm pretty happy with it performance wise, maybe just stick in another 512mb of RAM, then wait until next year when 64 bit processing and PCI express will be less bleeding edge and hopefully more affordable.

Thanks for the replies, I wasn't as far off as I feared in my own estimate.
