I saw Zatoichi on Sunday. It was a pretty damned great film, completely insane in places and hilarious in others. Basically it's the story of a blind masseuse who helps two sisters avenge the murderers of their family. The fight scenes are beautifully done and the whole film is amazing from start to finish, managing to maintain my attention throughout. Favourable comparisons have been made to Kill Bill which I'm truely ashamed to say I haven't seen yet (don't flame me too hard though...I'll pick it up when it comes out on dvd). Heres some more information on it if you haven't seen it:

    IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363226/
    Official site (in japanese): http://office-kitano.co.jp/zatoichi/
    Movies: http://www.cinemovies.fr/fiche_extrait.php?IDfilm=2314

It's on in UGC cinemas in town and I'd strongly recommend you catch it. Has anyone else seen it and what did they think of it?
