Ive been trying to install an Audigy 1 in my system.
    I've disabled onboard sound.
Once I put the card into the slot, my pc refuses to boot. The power light comes on, but it won't even start up the monitor.Nothing happens. Dead.
    Weird huh?
Has anybody else had a similar problem?

    Cheers,
    Pat.

I had simi;ar prob but it was taht the system would boot and then power off ...

Try cleaning hte gold contacts on the card - then another slot - also, try removing other PCI cards (to see if you're overlaoding the power supply)

I tried the last 2 slots.
My psu is a good quality 350w with no other pci slots used and a ti4200 so I'll try cleaning the contacts.
