Creating an intranet forum

    Lo all,

    Looking to create an a forum on an internal lan, something along the lines of boards.ie style would be perfect. Not looking for the facility of private messages, etc straight away, just need the basics, groups, subgroups, etc.

    Whats the easiest (& free-est!) way of doing this?

    Assuming you have some kind of server available, download and install some kind of bulletin board software (there's plenty of free ones, phpBB for example). Most bulletin boards require a database service also. There's plenty of both available for Linux/UNIX platforms, dunno about the forum software if you're using windows though.

    I'm sure someone else will be able to provide a much more in-depth answer.
