Batch capture problem in Premiere Pro

    Hi guys,

    Ok here is the scenario:

I am using a mini DV camcorder with a Sennheiser MKE-300D mono mic.

I can hear the sound perfectly in premiere when logging clips but when I go to batch capture i get this error "Audio Type Mismatch" and the clips don't capture.

Audio Only batch capture also doesn't work. I think it's to do with the fact that only one stereo channel is being used and Premiere expects 2 ch audio.
I tried setting up a project using mono sound for the main mix to no avail.

Strange thing is manually capturing works without any problem.

If I use the built-in stereo mic in the camera batch capture works perfectly. Trouble is you can hear the hum from the camera motors quite clearly.

A long trawl of Premiere help, Google and Adobe's website and several video forums has brought up zilch on this problem.

If it helps I'm using an Audigy soundcard firewire connection, Sony DCR-PC110E camcorder on a WinXP Pro system.

Anyone got ideas for a workaround which don't involve big wads of cash?!

    Cheers,
    Owen

Have you logged your clips with the one track on or with both tracks on? If you log clips with v a1 and 2 on and there is only one going in, this can cause probs sometimes.

    solution??

You can go to bin where clips are and then to modify clips then turn off the 2nd track in each clip!

    hopefully this helps

Thank for the reply , I also thought there would be some settings as you decribed but can't seem to find them.

    Here's my findings so far:

The clips log with 2ch audio.

The batch capture window only gives the option to capture Video + Audio, Video Only or Audio Only but there are no options to change the actual settings.

In the DV capture preferences all the settings are greyed out (but you can see it's using the Microsoft DV-AVI codec).

Once they are logged there doesn't seem to be any way to alter the properties - all you get when you right-click > properties is an rundown of the settings.

Am I missing something really obvious???
