    Hi All,

Got lumped with an old pc, mate has gone and bought a nice USB printer, no usb ports on the pc, and the usb adaptor card I got for it isnt working.

Is it possible to buy a cable that will connect to Parallel Port on PC and USB on printer, I know the other conversion exists. Can anyone suggest a retailer that sell them?

    Tks

Ive never seen USB printer to parallel port adapters - the only ones like it ive seen are the reverse (USB port to parallel printer) and theyre fairly expensive. When you say "old pc", you dont mean one thats running Windows 95 or 98 1st edition, do you? I had serious trouble getting USB to work properly on Windows 98. You could try taking the printer back, exchange it for one with both parallel and usb ports.

That is true i have worked for a major printer company and did support on printers, most of the time pc with a usb port on win 98 1st edition do not work very well toghetter.

Like subway_ie said get one with a parallel port on it most of them have one anyway:)

Is the upgrade to 98 se free? USB in 98 se isnt perfect, but it *should* work... Do you think they could handle the jump to XP?
