From an article in today's Sunday Times -

NTL Digital "is promising to increase the number of channels by between 20% and 30% before the end of this year".

"It's just a matter of concluding various deals" says Mark Mohan, NTL's sales and marketing director.

The Times says it's understood that the additional channels will be more foreign language channels "as well as UTV 2, Eurosport and Sky Sports Xtra".

Should someone tell them that UTV 2 has been closed down for quite some time now ?

ITV2, good. Eurosport, excellent but surprising. Sky Sports Xtra, also excellent. Lots of Foreign channels, crap. How about challenge, FX and the other UKTV channels? Also interactive has been promised for the last two years, will this ever see the light of day?

I wonder if TV3 Will kick up a fuss over ITV2 on NTL Digital.

Personally I would like to see some more music stations ...

Great news alright, especially about the return of Eurosport. (I wonder if there's any possibility of it making a return to the analogue package, maybe replacing CNBC or something)

Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

That's Great News. It started today, TMF (The Music Factory), Cartoon Network and Cartoon Network +1 have been added to the NTL Digital Network in Dublin.

Some say NTL is rubbish Some say its good I think it depends on were you live.
In tallaght the cable has been upgraded all my channels work perfect. Its about time the rest of the city was done aswell. The decoder you get also plays a big part the small tiny light gray ones work great I got this after having two dark gray ones with the number display on the front.I have been with NTL a year now and in that time I have not had a loss of service.A bit of interactive is what we need now.

What ntl say and what ntl do are totally different things altogether

If ntl added eurosport and sports xtra, I would be very happy. I would like more music channels such as vh2, the hits, the vault. The uktv channels would also be great.

Btw. Ntl will not be adding any more channels to analogue, as far as I know. In fact, as soon as they've given sky sports the chop on analogue, they'll start to move to the ordinary ones as they convert more and more people to digital...

Emm, TMF (The Music Factory) was added to the analogue network today and it would be no bad thing if more and more people went digital!

Maybe NTL should look into changing the entire setup of their EPG before they start adding channels and making channel hopping even more painful! I mean we've all been pissing and moaning about it for ages and nobody has done a thing. Surely somebody with half a nut in NTL searches about for customer feedback, like maybe on BOARDS.IE, and reports it back to HQ (if you could call it that), so improvements can be made.
I dont find picture distortion to big of a problem, im in portmarnock, but the timetable on the EPG is another thing worth looking into. I think they upload it at the beginning of each week and dont bother their arses to update it as changes occur. I know NTLs resources at the moment are probably on par with Dingle FM or some other half arsed excuse for a broadcaster but the lads over in the UK seems to have it sussed, why can't we?
Jee's im really ****en' on here but you pay good money for something, you have certain expectations!!

Great One, NEVER compare the Irish EPG to the UK one!!!!! Have you seen the UK lineup??!! The channels are all over the place!!! One channel is music, you press channel up and you're on sky movies 5, up again, it's sky movies 4!!! Our picture quality is pretty crappy here (im in templeogue dublin 6 w) but I have to congratulate ntl on their lineups for the epg - the have it all sorted by channel type. But apart, from that I hate ntl immensely. They obviously don't give a crap about customer feedback because I've e-mailed them hundreds of times asking them to change things, add this and that, sort this out and they've dont **** all about it. We're paying €30 for a service that I wouldn't even call digital. We might as well be sitting at home watching Video CD's all day long, because a VCD has better picture quality than ntl!!!
