Justice definatley. it just feels like to me all the frustration and anger at what they had gone through during the 3 years after Cliffs death is expressed in the album.

    2nd. Puppets

    3rd. Kill 'Em All

    i only included studio albums

I gotta go with Master of Puppets.

After that... any of them except St. Anger, which was just utter crap.

That was a hard one to answer. I voted Black but i luv Master of Puppets and Load as well.

i only included it in case theres some nu school metallica fans here who actually like that piece of piss album

Ride the Lightning is definitely the best. The last 3 are not up to much TBH, and I can see I'm not alone in that.

its definately master of puppets. Such class songs. Failing that, ride the lightning.

ok then, master of puppets becasue absence makes the heart grow fonder but black's a classic

Well its between Justice and RTL. I'll have to say Justice. Very good album.

I only really like the first two and AJFA... I just can't listen to MOP apart from the title track.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭nosmo

Put the bass back in, and Justice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,967 ✭✭✭Dun

AFJA, MOP/RTL in joint second place, and Kill 'em All third.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 68 ✭✭9lives

I don't like Justice very much. I find it totally bloated in comparison to "RTL" and "MOP". The tunes just don't do as much for me... I'm in a minority. I think it was the beginning of the decline.

    Has to be Puppets.....

followed closely by..Load ( IMHO - awaits the gasps of horror and revulsion )

    1. And Justice for all
    2. Master of Pupprets
    3. Ride the Lightening

Justice... now thats some raw ****, if Lars drumming wasnt so gay, that would be one of the best albums i have.

Without a doubt it has to be:
    Master of Puppets

    Deffo

    Puppets.

I think if Load/Reload had have been released as a single album with the best tracks from each, it could have made it higher on my list:

    1. Puppets
    2. Justice
    3. Lightening.
    4. Kill
    5. Black
    6. Load
    7. ReLoad
    8. Anger

And justice for all. Such a raw powerfull album, Blackend, And Justice for all, One, Dyers Eve, Harvester of Sorrow. Does it get any better.

Altho, I have to admit I don't listen to the album much - more into Metallica's live music these days - between 99 and 01 their live stuff is increadable esp the justice for all tunes. The albums low production values making it sound flat is a shame. Listen to the live stuff and then decide.

Is Zoton the only guy here who called it Metallica, and not the Black album?

Well, i was never that big a Metallica fan. I only have the Black Album, Ride The Lightening and St. Anger. Out of them, i'd pick the Black Album. So thats what i'll vote for!:D

    Master of puppets.

    Puppets.

8 songs. All of them distinct, all of them incredibly good and they all sound great back to back.

I think Puppets is probably my favourite album full stop. It's as close to perfect as you are likely to hear.

    Master of puppets!!!!!!

my first ever met's record .. got it in 86 and a few weeks later cliff died :(
was a bummer, i was only after getting into them as a kid and i thought that
they were gonna stop after that, but then i remembered the lyrics of whiplash
"we'll never stop we'll never quit.. cos were Metallica!!!"

so i knew it would be ok :)

    Paster of Muppets!

Why can't I vote? Gives me the results immediately as if I had already voted, instead of the poll.

I know. It's really annoying. What's the point in closing the poll? The topic is still open. FFS!

Anywho, Master of Puppets is my fav. My first ever record. Still have it - it's a "Music for the Nations" copy, whatever that means.

Kill'em'all is a piece of work those mustane solos are the
coupe'de'grace on horsemen and the power behind whiplash is unrivaled
:D its awe inspiring, if they play that at the concert ill be well pleased

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,594 ✭✭✭Fozzy

I had a look at the setlists at their gigs a few days ago, it seems that every concert ends with a different old song, most of them off Kill 'Em All. That's a deadly way to finish.
