for a whiile there i was using media player classic for all my video needs but lately i noticed that the video seems to lag the sound by about half a second. So I started using winamp, slow to load but apart from that... Is there any place to get more codecs for winamp as there are a few video types that it won't play and just crash? Or any other suggestion for a player? Media Player classic will play everything but the lag is getting annoying, unless anyone knows a fix. I know about videolan but any other suggestions?

I've been using BSPlayer for ages now and never had any problems. It's possible the sync issue is being caused by the presence of the Morgan Strea Switcher codec (which is a heap-o-crap anyway). If you have it, remove it and things might go back to normal.

yeah, gotta agree here, bsplayer or zoomplayer are the bizness, make saure you get a hold of the 'nimo codec' pack, do a search on google for this, you'll never have problems with lagging video again :)

btw - Windows Media Player sucks ass!!!!!

don't use codec packs, they install unnecessary crap and are often hard to uninstall. install latest version of media player classic, ffdshow, realalternative and quicktimealternative and maybe ac3filter. all free / OSS.
