    ALPHASTATES
    ***************

Alphstates are critically acclaimed for their stunning mix of ambient electronica, catchy left field pop with the hook laden dreamy vocals of Catherine Dowling.

Alphastates release their eagerly awaited debut album "Made From Sand" on 2nd April, followed soon after by a series of dates nationwide.

"Probably one of the most professional sounding up and coming bands in Ireland at the moment, Alphastates (formerly Babelfish) release their limited edition EP Good Stuff as a taster to their upcoming debut album. In Good Stuff, they reveal a slightly harder attitude, with singer Catherine Dowling's wonderful, completely distinctive voice revealing a little more disillusionment. The melodies here are slightly more skewed but there still remains a core of pop that makes these songs insidiously catchy".
    Sunday Tribune

"The first thing you notice about Alphastates' Good Stuff EP is the attention to detail. Every sound has been meticulously, lovingly crafted; every twist, turn, modulation and crescendo plotted with extreme precision, and, in places, to startling effect (namely the sultry "Good Stuff", punctuated by spiky guitars and light, airy vocal harmonies). ...none short of brilliant".
Hot Press (Single of the Fortnight)

"Their debut EP was called ‘Sometimes’ and the title track was a regular feature on Pet Sounds, and one which listeners constantly requested. Their style is part-ambient electronica, part-pop, and all brilliant. By far one of the more promising acts to appear on the Irish scene recently, the new single further shows their expertise at conjuring catchy, leftfield pop. ‘Addicted’ is the first track on their new ‘Conversations With Robots’ EP, and a faster, darker track than ‘Sometimes’. The production once again is superb, using airy samples in the background to complement the nu-electro sound".

    LIFE AFTER MODELLING
    *********************

Formed in Dublin at the beginning of 2003, Life After Modelling have spent the last twelve months touring England and Ireland while continuously writing and recording new material. In September 2003 the band were officially selected to perform at the "In the City" showcase festival in Manchester and also featured on the "Best of in the City" promotional CD. The start of 2004 saw them tipped as one of the ten most important unsigned acts in Ireland by Hotpress. Life After Modelling are a stylishly unstylish art-pop quartet and they want all of your money.

Their debut LP 'Music for Toys' was released on independent label Catchy Go Go in March 2002 and was Tower Records 'Most Recommended' for six months!

"The most exciting thing to happen to the Dublin music scene in ages .... the best new band in Dublin? Definitely" The Sunday Tribune

    THE MAINLINE
    ********************

Mainline are a six piece rock n roll band. The group formed in Dublin, Ireland circa 2003, and consists of Neil - vocals, rhythm guitar, Scott - lead guitar, Jeff - keyboards, Conor - bass and Patrick – guitar with Daniel - drums

Sighting a wide variety of influences from the Velvet Underground, through to the noisiness and dark feeling of the Jesus and Mary Chain and the deep drones of Spacemen 3 emerging into the here and now with a unique and creative originality.

Mainline have since played in some of Dublin’s top venues including Whelans, The Hub, Eamonn Dorans, The Temple Bar Music Centre and The Shelter.

The band is a hard working dedicated act and it seems only a matter of time before they receive larger scale recognition that’s much deserved.

    THE GREENBACKS
    ***********************

If an Irish four-piece with heart and a brain sounds hauntingly familiar, put aside your preconceptions and take in the melody, lyrics and stage presence. Rock seems a loose tag for such a band and could be seen as a noose. Pacey, flowing, melodic, acerbic and poignant give a further indication. They have just completed an EP combining recent material with some of the old crowd-pleasers, but it is live that they really come into their own. Dave Patterson, as lead singer and rhythm guitar, Sean O'Connor on drums, Diarmuid Breathnach on bass and Rob McDonnell on lead guitar have been playing together for so long, their onstage understanding and confidence in their material make every performance consistently unique.
