If you haven't seen series 6 and 7, stop reading now!

Anubis is a Goa'uld system lord who was supposedly murdered 1000 years ago by the other system lords Cronus, Nierti, and Yu. His crimes and atrocities were so bad, even in comparison to the other Goa'uld, that his peers saw fit to dispose of him.

However, unknown to the system lords, the murder was unsuccessful, and Anubis survived. He gained access to the knowledge of the Ancients, and learned how to ascend to the higher plane of existence. However, the Ancients who had already ascended had very strict rules on behaviour, and he quickly angered them. In an attempt to get rid of him, they tried to send him back to this plane of existence. The procedure was not quite successful though, and Anubis remained in a kind of limbo between this existence and the next.

In actual Egyptian mythology, Anubis is one of the Gods of the Dead.

I understiood anubis in egyption to be THE Dark Lord.

What i want to know is Anubis and Sokar both evil gou`auld. They both commited crimes so bad that they where unspeakable even to other gou`auld.

The gou`auld are canibals and when they take a host they eat other symbiots so they wont be able to take hosts. That way they remain in power.

I cant think of any crimes that would be that bad to banish them

maybe he used to wipe out entire planets of jafa or something thus killing thousands or millions of infant g'ould symbiots.

or maybe he killed a few queens.

    just guesses though

he may have killed queens, but remember all the system lords eat symbiots so i doubt it would be killing them. It might be forbidden to kill a queen, good gues.

They might eat symbiots but to kill thousands or millions of them could still be a crime.

Why dont you delete your post except for the last 2 lines.

Since SG1 goes in detail about Egyptian mythology i was suprised that they made EmoTep out to be a minor gou`auld from a back water planet.
Considering that he was credited to be the first pyrimid builder you would think he would have some power.

Also i was very suprised that Sokar didnt take a Unas as host.
