    Wholesale Line Rental – Pricing Issues, Margin
    Information Notice 03/241 indicated that the price of Wholesale Line Rental would
    be the retail price less 8.5% effective from 1 June 2003. This Information Notice sets
    out the prices for the Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) product from 1 April 2004.
    Wholesale Line Rental Pricing
    From 1 April 2004 prices for the WLR Product will be set at retail price less 10%. In
    the interests of providing certainty to the market, ComReg considers that this margin
    should apply for at least one year.

    how could this be right? It would mean wholesale charge at €22.50 so there would be no way for verdors to make any money on it especially if there is an extra charge for switching over. Or am I missing something?

    IIRC it was 15 months before the discount would pay for the €30 transfer fee..

    Whichever way you look at it eircom still get 90% of twice the EU average. And the transfer fee of ~ 10% paid up front so that helps cash flow.

    So Eircom actually make money on it for the first year.
