Where to buy cheap RAM

I found www.shop4memory.com to have the cheapest RAM.

But can anyone tell me if there is CHEAPER available.

Hopefully we can get to the rock bottom price for RAM.

nope they're pretty much the best you can get.

free delivery and based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. answered my emails within the hour too.

You could also do a price comparison on http://crucial.com/eu but I don't see them being any cheaper. I think Crucial make Irish customers pay an €7 delivery charge while Shop4Memory offer free delivery to the UK and Ireland.

I'd definitely recommend Shop4Memory having purchased from them in the past. I have a couple of friends who had to RMA memory with them and they found the returns processing excellent and hassle free.

The postal dispute didn't cross my mind (strictly speaking it's not a strike yet). It would be best as shop4memory normally use postal services for delivery.

(You could ask them if deliveries are affected in your area)

i found http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk/ to be really good.

Their irish despite the .co.uk and offer free deliver to IRL & UK. Don't even need a credit card.

Both PCMemoryUpgrade and Shop4Memory are parts of GoBeyond Services. They are essentially the same company supplying the same RAM from different operational bases.

shop4memory use SDS and as such shouldn't be affected by the postal strike....

Which type of RAM are you after? DDR RAM prices are increasing nearly every day at the moment, so you can either buy now before they increase any more - - or you can wait and see if they go down again in the next 4-5 weeks (I doubt it though!).

pchealth.ie are as cheap as it gets - €65 fro 512mb pc3200 ddr ram. I bought two sticks from them a couple of weeks ago - great stuff. You can order online but i went into town and picked it up. Its on Jervis Lane, which can be hard to find though - so get a map.

Thanks for all the advice.
I ordered from shop4memory, but the RAM i got was faulty.
Won't work with any combination at all, or on its own.
I've emailed them twice now about what to do about this and received no
reply at all.
Anyone know what the procedure for returning the faulty ram and getting working RAM is with them.
I take it i don't have to pay postage here since they sent me faulty goods.
Anyone have a phone number for them even?

Hey mate, did you ensure that the memory you ordered was the correct type? You often need to be very careful with the memory choice, especially if your system is a Dell, Gateway etc. As a rule of thumb, the cheapest option is rarely suitable for those types of systems. s4m will get back to you, usually latest within 1 working day.

I checked before i ordered. Even emailed s4m to check with them.
I've ordered memory off them before and found them to be very good.
Believe it or not this is the first thing i've ever ordered on the net (out of 100's) that hasn't worked, so i'm unsure as to what to do next.
If it was a shop i would just bring it back, but n.ot sure what happens here

I'm in London during the week so it'll have to be post.
I got a reply from someone there and he seems sound enough. He's going to send me details about it. I knew it was only a matter of time before something ordered on the net had to go back

Shop4Memory are very good with returns. Two people I know had to RMA fault RAM with them and they found their returns handling excellent.

In general, you do have to pay the postage costs on a RMA. If a company is very good, they might refund that to your credit card but this is unusual
