Apophis - no other Goa'uld can touch him when it comes to high camp! He always looks so arrogant and affronted when anyone dared suggest he was wrong. Sokar was defeated too easily and Anubis doesn't seem to have the same sense of "holier than thou" attitude of Apophis.

Out of that list I'd choose Apophis but my fave is Yu

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

Yeah, I'd have to opt for Lord Yu (or Lord Yu Whang Xiang Ti, to give him his full title!) - he's simply the most menacing out of all of them. The episode with the meeting of the system lords where Daniel was his slave was very insightful, and it displayed very well the balance between his disregard for human life and his ethics among the other Goa'uld (stating that Anubis should never be allowed back because of the atrocities he committed whilst being a system lord 1000 years ago).

Out of the list though, I'd have to say So'kar. His persona being modelled on that of the Devil was an excellent twist on the usual story, and its just a shame the scriptwriters didn't make more use of him.

Edit: By the way User... you're spelling is apocryphal.

    Plotwise and characterwise, Yu.

im sorry i knew i was forgetting a main one, ill pm the mod and ask him to edit my poll to delete Emotep and put in Lord Yu Wang Shang T.

Yes i know my spelling is bad

Seriously User, how hard would it be to check a SG1 website before doing the poll. You'd get the spellings right too. (Goa'uld, Osiris, Imhotep, Nirrti [her spelling seems to vary from place to place though])

Sokar is my favourite, probably. I liked Heru'ur and Yu (before he went cuckoo) too. Another absentee from the list but worth mentioning is Hathor. Some like her, although personally I think her water-resistant wig looked stupid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,313 ✭✭✭bus77

Nirrti was a fine figure of a woman so thats my vote gone:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

ok ecksor put Yu into the vote for me so all u u :D can now vote for him.

One of my faverate moments in SG1 is the sokar torturing apophis scene. Sky 1 always edit half that episode out :(

Dude, that was Hathor! Nerti was the man-ish looking one who did the mad DNA experiments on everyone. She had a really masculine voice too - probably a male Goa'uld inside a female host, or something.

I liked Heru'ur too, but he didn't really do much apart from getting stabbed in the hand one day on Abidos. But did anyone else notice a Goa'uld that looked an awful lot like Heru'ur in the episode where Jack and Sam saw Anubis' clone armies bowing to him? They turned around to find him there and shot him. I'm pretty sure it was him, but at the same time, I thought there was a storyline where he'd been killed by Apophis. Anyone shed any light on it?

oh god i left out hathor aswell, this is too anyoting only having a limit of 10 on a poll.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Hathor is the only choice here :)

C'mon lads, keep this thread clean and more on topic. I've no desire to hear about your sexual fantasies of certain SG-1 characters...

Thats some nice modding, sharp on the ball (does that make sence)

I think apolphis sokar and Anubis had the best dialog of the gouald but cronos had a few good lines "you will not be as fortunite to die as quickly as ur father did by my hard SholV a

No, thats quite clearly a mixed metaphor.

Anyway, I still think Lord Yu was by far the best. I suppose its a case of him getting more continuous airtime than any of the others in "Summit (Parts 1 & 2)". We got to see him in his home planet, in his home environment, how he treated his personal slaves (with a degree of respect, it has to be said), and how he acted among the other Goa'uld system lords. It was such a well-written episode - everything made perfect sense, and there were no unanswered questions. You saw his motivations, and it was also the first time we learned the Goa'uld were cannibalistic.

It was like reality TV for the fans of the Goa'uld, and it was eerie to see that a man (if you can call him that) who was responsible for so much suffering could act with such integrity among his peers. I don't think we've seen that kind of depth to any of the other Goa'uld - even Apophis.

So your a Yu man are ya?
    This ones for you....

....but Ba'al is still the coolest.
    And Anubis the most bad-ass.

    His best I'm-clearly-a-Chinese-Goa'uld-stereotype line was:

    "I will take my tea".

    Memorable. :ninja:

It was actually "I will have my tea" - think.

Ye Yu was/is a good charactor not as good as bal.
I like the way bal wiped out 60 million people on a planet instead of lose the planet to sokar in a terretorial dispute

Baal was the best by far, the rest looked/dressed like they were Twink at panto. But Baal was really evil in a sexy well dressed way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,190 ✭✭✭✭seamus

Hathor was cute, but Osiris clearly owns her pants. In fact, they'd make a great double team ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

I know someone who looks EXEATLY like Osaris even wears the white and everything - its scarey how much she looks like her, the hair and everything are the same. i even once got her to say
"Your a long way from home arnt you"
    and
"tell me what subversions you a apart off or i will blead you dry"

Umm yes, because Teal'c isn't a Goa'uld. He's a Jaffa. Big difference. They're only Goa'uld when the symbiote takes over the host body, which they can't do in the case of Jaffa.
