Dog vomitting blood...?

Our (almost) 5 year old Westie vomitted yesterday in the kitchen, only a small amount of clearish liquid (he may have been drinking some water beforehand) but there was some blood in it.

My wife's sister is bringing him to the vet today but I'm just wondering if anyone knows if its something we should be worrying about?

    Thanks,

it could be an ulcer, or even poisening, or a hundred other bad things,
    its never a good sign,
get him to a vet urgently

    Thanks Falkorre.

Turns out he has some sort of infection (vet is not too sure what) and his temperature was extremely high. He put him on a course of antibiotics and some pain killers and told us not to let him near other dogs.

Hopefully he'll be fine after his treatment :)
