it seems that you have installed some spyware....probably when you installed some freeware software such as peer-2-peer networking software.

You can remove most spyware with LavaSoft:

    I hope this helps,

hmmm its been a while but

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > and untick "Third Party Support" > restart browser

As well as the spyware advice given above

I have seen quite a few of these spyware applications run batch scripts during the windows boot process and re-edit these properties.

got rid of a similar one last night that my spybot did not remove

    go to the registry

    start-> run -> regedit

press F3 to find . put motor-search.info into the find box
select find - when it's found edit the key and enter what ever you want as your homepage.

also...check in the section of the registry that is run at boot time. There may be a script that will re-enter these details.

It will have an off name like sdfdfd.bat and will be in one of your temp directories.

Spyware are becoming more like viruses every day.

would start>run>msconfig find this or am i off the mark?

I am not sure about msconfig...I dont use M$ on my desktop anymore...but if you use regedit you will find some start-up options somewhere....look thro' eack one of them and try to identify the dodgy one.

The Run keys for startup are in:

    \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run

    and

    \\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run

The keys in these two locations list the tasks to be run.

As always when poking around the registry be careful not to delete anything important.
