    Handiest application ever... http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/
Have my keyboard & mouse shared between my linux and windows desktop at the moment... but the best bit is it copies the clipboard from one machine to the other.. no more ftping text files for urls :)

but it's not as well suited as synergy for the use Kali's talking about. You can't share keyboard/mouse between 2 displays, all you can do is have one display with a section (the vnc window) as the remote hosts desktop. Not half as cool.

VNC is aimed at a totally different problem.

Alright Greg, what dark internet hole did you spring from? :)

Anyway as he said.. VNC is useful if you have one monitor and want to control several PCs... with this application however you have a seperate display for each PC you want to control.. and you don't sacrifice your current screen... meaning I can code on my linux desktop, flick the mouse over to the windows machine and test the application on it.. .its hard to appreciate fully till you use it.. but its well worth trying.

that sounds really cool. I'm hatching all kinds of plans for the summer and a tech fest. This could be one such idea :)

aye.. would be great to get four (or more, I've no idea how many this can control) monitors and stack them in a square or all in a row and flick between them at your hearts content.. (the app can recognize left/right and above/below transitions between desktops).

Seems good, Would allow me to remove the clutter of 2 keyboards and 2 mice off my small desk. Will give it a go later. Cheers.

You are my new god, I have a switcher but this negates the need for it and improves upon it to boot, cant wait to fiddle with this when I get home :D
