Inconsistancies In Stargate!

In season six, in the Unnatural Selection episode, Teal'c is shown getting very territorial over the ice-cream he's eatting.

Yet in the same season, episode The Changeling, Teal'c says 'I would prefer not to consume bovine lactose at any temperature' when Sam suggests he tries warm milk to try and get some sleep. Maybe I'm missing something here, but still, I spotting that promotes me to the role of Stargate fanboy :D

maybe the ice-cream was flavoured....? I'm sure you'll find people who don't like the taste of milk but yet like icecream.

    Simple really :)

Maybe he only ate ice-cream for the entire trip and it put him off dairy products for life? :p

or maybe he wasn't in the mood at that time and "would prefer not to" .. *sigh*

    Oh for crying out loud.

    Google

Or maybe it was ice-cream made from cat's milk. You can milk anything with nipples you know.

There are MANY mistakes in stargate, just like any other show/movie.

There's one episode where they are in a cave on another planet and you can see the roadsigns outside (cant remember which episode it was).
I almost felt like turning off the TV when I saw that.

Then we have the whole quantum mirror thing.
If every single reality exists, that means that you do not have free choice, as you (<--- in this reality) only have one choice when you are infact presented with many (all the other choices will be made in the alternate realities).

Basically, if the quantum mirror idea is true, there's no point in doing anything anymore, as you are more or less a preprogramed robot.

Newton once said that if you knew the momentum and position of every single particle in the universe, you could predict future for all enternity. If this had been true, we again would be left with no free choice.

Fortunately, Mr. Heisenberg kinda gave us our free choice back, and I like that :)

Try to remember what episode it was - I want a laugh! Having said that, even a classic film like "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" has a scene where the movie crew and lighting equipment are very clearly visible.

In the matrix in the cinima you could see the camra in the reflection of someones sunglasses but i think they edited it out for the DVD if you looked reley hard you could probbley find it on the net somewhere.

I dont remember that SG1 episode with the sign.....

I'm assuming that Teal'c would never drink milk from any living creature. Also, I think it's highly unlikely that the ice-cream he would have been eatting was made out of soya given it's cost and rarity.

Anyway, this is just a light-hearted dig at one of my favourite shows on television.

But he singled out "Bovine" lactose, not just lactose in general. Besides, there was nothing said that made it seem he didn't like milk ever, just that he didn't want any at that point in time (warm or otherwise).

IT could have been soya milk.

    eh ..no.

Every choice you make leads u down a path and then every choice after that leads u down another path and every choice after that etc etc etc

The only stupid thing about the mirror universe idea was the fact they said there was a limited number. (didn't carter say thousands ?)

In actual fact there would be Infinite.

I just watched the first episode last night and a couple of things struck me. Mainly that when they came out of the gate they were covered in ice and shivering. That hasn't happened in a long time.
Though I did like the fact that O'Neills house in teh first episode is the same place as the second last episode of series 7, the lost city part 1.

I'm pretty sure that carter says they sorted that problem a good while ago but I don't remember which episode or how but they rarely go into details

Teal'c was eating Ben and Jerries, it was a brown colouredtub so if you one of you saps wants to go check what type of milk Ben and Jerries use, then someone could win this arguement.

Anyway....you all overlooked the possibility that maybe Teal'c didnt knwo there was milk in ice-cream.....i really doubht hes a buff on human food.

I wasn't asking for a full public apology when I mentioned it to you senordingdong. Just to be considerate of other posters in the future.

Nothing to see here. Move along you lot!

Moving back in the direction of the topic ....
I thought the stargates were indestructible?
Am I wrong here cos I'm not sure.
If I'm right, when, at the end of Season 1, start of Season 2, they stuck C4 all over the gate and Apophis' ship and they used the naquida in the gate to amplify the explosion this shouldn't have worked.
Why would the gates be made out of such a substance anyway if it's so volatile.
Just something that's been nagging at me since I watched the eps last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

Because the ancients were bleedin dzzzopes!!!
Where di you get the idea the gate was indestructible anyway? becasue it clearly isnt.

However...if we are to point inconsistincies in stargate, we would be here forever.
