    has anyone else got a problem with sky news active ie when you select it you get an overspill of the screens mixing with each other. when you select the full picture screen you get about one third of the screen beside it in the picture of the screen you selected. could this be a software problem with my box panasonic digibox with the card upside down . tried rebooting it and putting the card back in correctly but to no avail . any help appreciated. {no sky subscription cancelled it about 2 months ago}
    thanks

    I am having the same problem. It is very annoying!! My box is also a Panasonic and I have a current subscription with Sky. I wonder if this problem only with the Panasonic boxes?

    I have 3 panasonic's and they are all working perfect on Sky News Active. Only one has an Irish sub and the other 2 have FTV cards. A forth box I have is a pace2600 with a ftv card and thats also perfect.

    Check out that link above - there is TWENTY FIVE pages of people in the UK who are having major f up's with their sky service, caused by a screw up in the software upgrades. Be prepared for some reading if you go to that forum.

    Hope that helps answer your query

    (ie. sky has f-d up with recent software upgrades, so there is nothing you can do, but sit and wait and wait and wait and wait and wait....)

    I've the same problem on a box I installed yesterday. Did a forced software update as the box had been disconnected for a while. It took about 15 mins and after I saw the overspill issue. Funny thing is that the update did not seem to get applied because I check in the System Detail section. When I get it hooked up in it's final location I'm gonna try another forced download and see if it's successful this time. My other two Panasonic boxes are fine though :-)

    I've just had my digibox replaced after the old one developed a fault and the new one has this problem with Sky News active. From what I've read in this thread as well as similar threads over on the Digital Spy forums it seems its Panasonic boxes that *don't* have the software update that are exhibiting the problem, not the ones that do.

    My previous box had updated itself to 3.2.11 and Sky News active was fine, yet the new one the engineer installed yesterday (also Panasonic) has the old software and is showing the overlapping screens. Perhaps Sky News have changed the way the data of the interactive service is sent to the boxes, in such a way that now only Panasonics with the new software can display it properly? Anybody techy-minded able to tell me whether that's right or not?

    just an update. all appears well now.the software must have been corrected. the version no of the epg software in case anyone is interested is 3.1.5 . dont know wheter that makes a difference or not.

    These problems may have something to do with an update to the Irish Sky News Active service. Viewers in Ireland can now vote using the remote from the Sky News Active screen, and email Sky News using the yellow button, a prompt for which is now seen on the top right hand of the Active screen.

    i doubt it i was using an upside down sky card so the default epg was the english one so it would have not recognised if it was irish. i notice that the yellow button is an option on the my epg now so it must have beeen something to do with that but not the irish one in particular.

    Mines working fine now too. I don't think it had anything to do with Sky News Ireland as I read on other forums of people in the UK having the same problem. Theirs seems to have been fixed too, so I guess Sky just heard about the problem and fixed it themselves.

    Ah well, that's put me in my place !!:D

    Good to see it sorted, though.
