Sorry, I'm sure this detail is here somewhere, but I can't find it.

If I get Sky+, I can keep my old box. That's fine but.......

Do I need another feed from the dish then? Do I tell sky i'm keeping a second sub?

In short, how can I use my original box to get bbc fta etc?

    thnx.

do the 'regular' sky installers do that?

Yes,sky+ comes with a quad lnb, two of the inputs go to the reciever,so you may use two other boxes from the one dish.

You can get a mirror sub on your old box for €15 per month, providing you agree to keep both connected to a phoneline for the duration of the second or mirror sub and subscribe to Sky+ (which is free anyway if you are getting two premium channels at the moment)

You can also use the old box as a free to air reciever, using the add channels method for BBC, or using the upside down card trick, as discussed further down, providing the new update has not been applied to your box.

If you are not getting a mirror, it may be cheaper to run a lead from the dish yourself, as Sky charge extra for relocating the old box, (check prices in your sky magazine)

I think you mean "irregular" sky installers :D These guys are currently getting 25 euro per install (sierra) so I'm sure they would be delighted to do an extra point for you for a bit extra.
