Hello all, i know this has been answered in previous posts but i just cant get it working.

I just bought a sim free Nokia 6600 from the UK, but cant use the MMS, WAP, GPRS progs. I downloaded the settings from o2's website, but they dont seem to work. I then saw the post at

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/show...threadid=124378

but BrianG's settings didnt seem to work either. I'm getting the same errors as jo.king had:

I go to the services menu, select O2 GPRS, it asks me to make a connection to the server i select yes. It then goes on to tell me that it is connecting to 'O2 GPRS' when this finished the 'G' in the top left is solid (as opposed to flashing while connecting) with a border around it and the 'G' that was circling the world has now disappeared. It then asks me to select an access point i again select 'O2 GPRS' it then just sits there and does nothing until it gives me an error saying 'Services: unable to perform operation'. I then have to select disconnect to remove the 'g' from the top left of my screen.
I realise that the phone uses wap 2.0 and that none of the networks support this as of yet, but is there anyway that i can get the services working (mainly MMS)?

I'm with O2 speakeasy (ie postpay), any help would be great!

    Thanks,

    Dan

hi - so far feedback on here is that WAP and MMS is still not working on O2 (or Vodafone) with this handset, only Meteor...

the only other option for connection is to use their Web/ISP connection for Email Accounts and Browsing with the Web (not WAP) Browser - the Opera Web Browser should have been included with the phone...

ok post-pay is where you get a monthly bill - Speakeasy is pre-pay so (if you are Speakeasy) you need to use pp.internet for Web/ISP GPRS access point (as far as i remember the O2 settings posted previously were for post-pay which uses a different access point)

also, to use this you need to call O2 Internet/WAP support on 1740 or email support At o2.ie to get set up or check you have access to this this pp.internet GPRS Access Point - if you are not set up (provisioned) on the network for this you won't be able to connect

Do you know if a sim free V600 would have similar problems with an O2 set up ?

Have you contacted O2 to make sure that your account has been provisioned for GPRS and MMS, You mentioned above that you are on Speakeasy i.e. Postpaid, Speakeasy is called Prepaid, Bill is postpaid, me think you may have downloaded the wrong settings.
