Is there a huge difference between RH9 and FC1?

Well, what I really want to know is, can I install rpm packages that are built for FC1 on RH9?

I have KDE 3.2 on DVD (LinuxFormat) but there's no RH9 package, can I install the FC1 packages?

I suppose I could try to compile from source, but I'd imagine it's a right bollox, right? How long are you looking at? (P4 2.8, 512MB RAM)

    Cheers!

on of the main reasons red hat dropped 'red hat linux' was they couldn't afford to keep binary .rpm compatibility between minor versions like 9.x (fc1==9.1 to me)

So no guarantees! and in my opinion outside of gentoo/*bsdports building kde is a real headache!

I'd wait for fedora2's release and upgrade to it :), It will have kde3.2 and kernel 2.6, which is nice!

Nice one, had a feeling that was the case.
Got a new 120G drive on the way anyway so I guess it'll all work out in the end :)
