    Hi
Wonderif anyone can help with (Sorry) probably a very basic problem. I recently moved into a house with a satellite installed (think its a sky satellite), however there was no reciever. I bought a digital reciever to get FTA channels and connected it to satellite. I am able to recieve BBC and news channels, however even though a lot of channels ( german etc...) seem to have a good signal, I can't get them. Basically all I can get is news and shopping. Is it possible to get these foreigh channels, as it seems that these are also FTA.

The europen channels are on a different satellite to the BBC ones. The BBC one are on the same satellite as Sky digital at 28 degrees east whereas the european ones are pretty much all at 19 degrees east.

Thanks, so does that mean I need to move the satellite, or do I need a larger dish to get both. At the moment I am getting a good signal for both BBC channels etc... and foreign channels sat1,DSF etc...., but only able to watch BBC. The signal strength is very good for both sets.

Possibly not. Can you check to see if there are two LNB's i.e. two devices on the arm of the dish? If you are getting a lot of european channels, this maybe the case?

there are a lot of similar transponders on astra 1 and 2 so you are probably not receiving any signals from astra 1.
The only dish i know of that does astra 1 and 2 is the wave frontier toroidal dish

No, Only one LNB. I think the dish was origionally used for sky, its a wire mesh dish ??. When I did the scan, I got the foreign channels on Astra 19E The signal strength and quality is very strong for them, however no picture or sound, also after a few seconds "Audio/Video not running" comes on screen. I'm new to this, but is it possible that the LNB is for Sky Only, do I need to get a universal LNB.

I can get all english language channels, FTA inc BBC1,2,3,4,News Sky News,Euro News,ITV News, reality TV etc......

    So basically
How can i get these FTA Foreign Channels?, as there seems to be a lot of them on Astra.

How would I be able to Pickup Hotbird 1,2,3,4,5,6?

Is all the above possible with this dish and LNB (SKY Mesh dish and LNB)?

    Thanks for help so far.
