I'm a 2nd year Analytical Science Student in DCU.

I *might* have a summer project through a collaborative department.

I'm not quite sure on the details or the salary as I have to set that up with accounts.

However there are usually agood few summer projects knocking about, if I hear of anything I will let you know.

    Just out of curiosity:

Have you chosen Biology or Chemistry option and how much hands on have you had with the likes of HPLC, PAGE, Agarose Gels, Mico, ELISA, Cell culture or any other techniques.

    Which ones interest you most?

I'll know what to look for.

    Syke

Well i am in second yr so at moment have kinda chosen more biological and chemistry altho they still make us do physics. :-p

Eh next yr i'm pretty much certain i'm choosing chemistry.

Hmmm HPLC I have had practise with altho i'd prob have to revise technique and such because as far as i know it was quite a while ago. ELISA I'm pretty sure i've covered in lectures and i know i have heard of it. However i don't think i've had much experience of it. I really don't think I have heard of PAGE to be honest. I probably have and just don't know the shortened version - what does it stand for? Eh I've a lot of experience with cell culture - isolated colonies, serial dilutions, growth effects and idenitifaction using tests such as idole and methy red etc (Bergey's Manual). We've also had alot of experience with chromatography and titrations. Its very hard to summarise all the experiments ive done over the past two years considering I've done so many. The best idea probably would be if you looked up the DCU homepage and searched for my course in second yr and see what i do in labs if ur interested altho ive given quite a bit of detail above. If i think of anything else, I'll post another message.

What interests me most is probably Chemistry to be honest. I like biology and biochemistry but i prefer the more chemical side of things.

Let me know if you spot anything which could be suitable.

And before i forget, thank u so much! :-)
