Tell you what - go start a thread on Politics and get your friends to join in in a similar vein. If you don't get promptly bitchslapped by one of the mods there, I'll apologise and change my approach to the moderation of the Archery board. See, here's the thing: I'm the moderator. There's a charter for the board, and I'm moderating in accordance with it. In all the recent noise, I've yet to see a proposed new charter.

who thinks there should be a new charter?

Right well I'll take the blame for thread deletion.

I wasn't in on the joke in any way shape or form so it was interpreted as utter spam and deleted.

    My opinion on charter change.

I don't particularly mind if ye wanna go absolutely balistic and post pure rubbish (not constantly mind you we do want actual archery talk too). It'd have to be by majority consensus really though.

The only other big problem in my mind would be:

This is not the archery community forum. This is the archery sport forum. As such it's meant to be a tad more serious than how the community forum's would be.

We could request it to be moved but meh.

Discuss etc. Lets keep this a serious discussion though.

That's one point I would like very clear. There's serious discussion and having a laugh. Don't try to mix them a lot. I hate sifting through a thread looking for something important that may or may not be there.

A whole new charter? I don't think we need it, if we just add

"Promoting fun in the sport of archery"

or some other phraseology (I don't know how to spell that word!!!) that will allow for a little bit of banter amoung archers then I'd be 100% in favour of that!!

    Anyone agree?

i have no problem with serious conversations or nonsense (you would never guess!)

its not that we are trying to cause total non anarchy

its just that if a nonsense thread is set up allow it to continue as it is doing no harm

Hmmm... Well for at least the time being keep it confined to that one thread.

Saves me hitting my head off of the keyboard when 10 new junk threads have been started!

I'm with Madrab and The Sin too. No reason why a bit of craziness and some serious archery discussion can't exist side by side on the same board ( on separate threads of course ). The charter does need to be amended to prevent oscarBravo going authoritarian on us again and pointing to the charter non-stop. Otherwise its going to be confrontation after confrontation.
Of course that’s only if the majority want to have a board with a bit of banter. If oscarBravo is the voice of the majority then I'd be perfectly happy to take my sense of humour somewhere else.

And yes, I know I have no sense of humour Baggins!

ps thats the correct spelling of phraseology

I agree with the amsses on this one. an entirely new charter is not needed, just allow mad ppl like me somewhere to vent our wierdness and we should be ok..... one or two threads should easily be enough.

And as far as i know, nobody thinks i'm an evil bugger anymore (except those who know me, obviously)

PS Trig, i know you have no sense of humour, but i dont remember saying it recently.....

im wit them aswell a new chater is not wats needed just an amendment or two.

That was the reason why we set up the new thread to keep it seperate from the serious archery discussions taking place on the other threads it may have helped to broadcast this fact but its too late now. and it wasn,t helped by a very ridig charter. anybody have any ideas for the phraseolgy of such a charter.
