Does anyone know if Kill Bill Volume 1 will contain the final fight in full colour as it was meant to be. I think I'm basically looking for the Japanese version (region 3). I've done a quick search and can't really find much on this.

If I need to get the Japanese version, where would I get it?

    Thanks in advance

They have it at www.yesasia.com. One in a box set for a shockingly large amount of money and a regular one for $40 (I think). Both have the fight in full colour and contain the correct subtitling for viewing over here.

The studios are really starting to bug me. I bought the alien dvds 2 years ago and now they're re-released them with tons of extras. FFS they should've done that 2 years ago - I'm not gonna splash out on them again.

Ooo, you have to wait for the box set!
    Think of the extras!

    MMmmmmm, eeeeextras....*drooles*

What makes you think there'll be loads of extras?
The first releases of Tarantinos previous films have been pretty close to vanillas. Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown were poor dvds until the 2 disc se were released.
    Reservoir Dogs still is vanilla.

Ah, come on, everybody puts more extras on the box sets just to make people who bought the singles buy the bumper DVDizzles.

    I could be wrong though.:)

    Although I hope im not.

    mmmmm......vanilla.

Reservoir Dogs is getting a 2 disk Special Edition treatment for R2 players now. Its out June 7th. Special Features are :

    Extras Disc 1:

Commentary with writer/director Quentin Taranti no, producer Lawrence Bender and select cast and crew
    Trailer

    Extras Disc 2:

    Deleted Scenes
Original Interviews (Chris Penn, Kirk Baltz, Michael Madsen, Lawrence Bender, Tim Roth, Quentin Tarantino)
    Class of 92 interviews
Sundance Institute's Film-makers Lab - Scenes of Reservoir Dogs
    Tributes and Dedications
An Introduction to Film Noir: Writers and Film-makers Securing the Shot - Location Scouting With Billy Fox

I know Tarantino has been quoted as saying that Kill Bill will be getting a few different releases for DVDs with Special Editions etc. I belive it has been confirmed that the two films will be released re-edited together as one also. May be better to hang onto your credit cards for a while till more is announced.

Far be it from me to change the topic but a quick work about DVD extras. When you buy a DVD, it's not like your buying a cd, you can play a good cd 500 times and still not be sick of it. Films are diffrent though, if you buy a DVD your likely to watch it no more than 20 times in your lifetime unless your a total fanatic! So when it comes to extras I don't see why people are often lining up to pay twice as much for a few added documentories that they are likely to watch once and never touch again. For example the LOTR extended edition, the added scenes were cool, but I'd never sit down and watch all of the documentories about it from start to finish like I did when I first got it.

Kill bill is a cool film, and when I get it on dvd I want the proper version of the film, but you can keep your mini-swords and and Tarentino life story documentorys!

You have to bear in mind this is the first of his films to be made in the era of DVD. It's bound to have been part of his plan for the film.

If you ordered Kill Bill Uncut from CDwow, be prepared to be dissapointed......

Turns out that it isnt the Uncut version at all. They have changed the description as on the site to say the fight scene is in black and white. Sent them a mail and got this back :

    Thanks for your e-mail message.

Our suppliers have unfortunately issued us with a version which differs

Got the Region 3 Kill Bill today from CDWOW.

The fight scenes are in black & white in the same places as the theatrical release we got in the cinemas last October.
There's no English subtitles for any of the Japanese dialogue either. Just Chinese subtitles for the English language dialogue.

Nice box though, and the film is still cool hehe :D

    Features:
    teaser & theatrical trailers
    tv spot
the teaser for Kill Bill Vol. 2
    photo gallery
    comic gallery
    cast bios
    behind the scenes clips
    B Reel footage

    think that's about it...
