At the mo i have an intelli optical mouse with wire, was looking at a cordless mouse but 1 question always stuck in the back on my head would there be a slower response time of cordless mouse compared to a mouse with wire, also what is the weight difference like as the lighter the mouse the better in my mind.

anyone with either a wireless or wire mouse give me your views

ive had 2 or 3 wireless mice and ive never notice a diff in response time. the only reason ud notice something like that is if there was something blocking its line of sight to the reciever thing.

i had a wireless for a while, using wire now. My major problem with wireless is the fact that it needs batteries and / or recharging. It just adds unnecessary hassle to a simple item. I don't feel anything is gained from having a wireless mouse either (but that might just be me).

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Have had the MS wireless optical intellimouse explorer since it came out and very happy with it :)

Only drawback is it doesn't come with a recharging stand, so you need to change the batteries frequently (every two weeks or so with heavy use). Have loads of charged rechargeables in my drawer, so no big deal for me

The equally very good Logitek MX700 and MX900 do have the little charger stand and the latter also incorporates a bluetooth hub. Might try that for my next mouse as I've heard very good feedback about them

    Wireless rulez :D

P.S. these mice are not cheap...

I've used both and don't really find any difference in response. I'd normally go for a wired mouse as I don't gain anything from wireless at an increased cost.

Im using the Wireless Optical 2.0 from Microsoft, and find no difference in response times. I have my pc on 15hours a day and i havent had to change the batteries since i got it (about 2months ago). The reciever is in my drawer, so its not based on line of sight. Great mouse. Last time i saw them, €50 in Game on Henry Street.

I'm after getting the logitech wireless desktop mx and I think it's great....BTW they work off RF so there's no need for a line of site....

i used to have the mx 700 wireless, tis top of the range(was at the time anyway) it was a pain in the arse kept skipping on me, some friends have had the same problems.

interferance is a bítch on wireless mice so im sticking with my intellimouse explorer 3.0 for the next while tis a beauty.

but ive heard good things about bluetooth mice, very good error correcting over bluetooth.

I got an MS Wireless IntellMouse Explorer about a month or so ago. The jury is still out on it. While it's great for editing docs/images whatever, and it feels very nice, I'm not convinced it's a good gaming mouse. The scroll wheel tilts which is a nice feature, and the wheel scrolls really smoothly. The problem is, playing something like UT, or its children, the wheel scroll so smoothly that changing weapons is a real pain as it rockets (pardon the pun) through all the weapons at a touch. Too fast to fix on one when in combat. Can't find any way to slow it in the control software.

I also get the feeling that the initial move, if the mouse has been sitting for a while, has the smallest delay, but I'm probably being pedantic (or just imagining it). My gf uses it more than I do anyway, and she thinks it's great!

Anyway... :) I also read really good reviews of the Logitec BlueTooth keyboard and mouse combo. Review here. Mmmmm... But it's really expensive... :(

    Edit:
Here's the BT one on Komplett. 176 smacker! Ok if you use other BT devices I guess and need a hub.
