    Anyone know how to detect the ip address of a network switch?

    Scan the network for IPs.

    I assume it's a managed one.
    Download the manual from the manufacturer's website.
    Find out how to reset it to factory defaults, find the default IP and login/password in the manual.
    Connect to the switch through Telnet or web interface or whatever.

    If it isn't a managed switch it doesn't have an IP.
