Can any body recommend a decent movie palyer for red hat 9
have realplayer installed but would like to watch some movies too ive heard of exine but have big problems installing it so anything a bit simplier that wont require huge amounts of libraries to be installed with it.

Totem, Noatun, Xine, mplayer. Check if any of them are installed by default with RedHat. If not, I'd say at least one of them is on the isntallation CDs.

If you want Xine, this site has the latest packages/dependencies/plugins and explains step-by-step what needs to be installed.

I'd second mplayer. I use it and find it excellent. You should be able to find RPM's for the latest version pretty easily.

I must give VLS a try, mplayer has been causing me a bit of grief lately.

Ive never had a problem with mplayer, and its played every file EVER, apart from some crappy old .rm's

mplayer is excellent, i use to play all of my dvds. make sure you get the gui frontend for it though! then run 'gmplayer'.
