    Folks

Have recently noticed that the automatic scart control on Sky Digital now also works for BBC 1 only through the normal coax connection. ie. if you watching Sky through only a normal cable you will get the automatic picture adjustment on a widescreen TV!Interesting.

Normally the Digibox only does WS mode switch on SCART by 5V instead of 12V for SCART on.

For switching via aerial, the signal needs to be on Line23. On Digital generally the picture only has the picture (teletext lines are an illusion, they are a separate data stream and the Digibox re-inserts them in the picture at the Digital to Analog convertor.

Line 23 WS via DSAT directly is usually a mistake. There has been a PIC micro addin board that uses the SCART pin and the DAC chip to add Line23 switching, but while the Digibox could do this in SW, it hitherto hasn't. UK DTT freeview and many non-Sky Digital Satellite receivers do reinsert the Line23 switching.

I'd say your BBC WS / Normal switching via aerial cable is a temporary accident. If Sky adds it to Digibox SW, then it will work on all channels.
