Sky+ & satellite signal requirement

    Hi folks,

    Like a few people my dish got knock out of alignment on Saturday, the installer called around within 15mins !! but it was too dangerous to head up onto the roof with the wind gusting, so no Sky til Monday.

    Anyway I thought this was an ideal opportunity to catch up on the last few weeks of SG-1 and ST Enterprise but no, 30 secs into the playback up pops a message: "Sky+ needs a Satellite signal to playback", aaaaarrrrgggghhhh.

    Now my question, why? surely the program in its entirety is stored on the HDD so whats the story, anyone?

    It's just to ensure the box stays where it is, ie in your home.
    Mad I know but them is the conditions.

    they havent worked out a method to discover how to tell if its somewhere else but connected toa the dish yet afaik unless its connected to the phone.
