Guy who sells gourmet tea

I remember about 4-6 weeks ago seeing a paragraph with picture about a chap who used to be a pharmaceutical sales manager who was selling tea in one of the Dublin weekend outdoor markets and who had an e-mail address. It was in the Irish Times weekend supplement and I unfortunately binned the magazine before taking the e-mail address.

There are a few varieties of tea that I'd be interested in getting from him assuming he sells them.

Does anyone know which market this chap sells his wares from and *even better* his e-mail address (or website -- although google is throwing up nothing)

    thanks, in advance

I think it could have been theteamerchant@hotmail.com, but thats from memory.

No, that sounds about right. The article was in the Irish Times Saturday magazine some while ago, and I think that it gave just an e-mail address, no URL.

Thanks folks for the info, some googling threw up a website...
and a nice one at that too.

He has a wide selection including wares for tea serving.
He doesn't seem to list one of my favourites, Russian Caravan
which I first bought in a market in Norwich some years ago.
I will contact him to see if he might blend it.
website intuitively enough is at www.theteamerchant.ie

I have no connection with him at all but I have to admire him because it is something I often thought Ireland could do with
since it is spotty around town trying to lay hands on good leaf
tea (Bewley's are ok.. but he has a great eclectic specialist
    collection)...

Whittard's have some nice teas. They're based on King's Road in London but have a wee shop with sampling at the Trocadero next to HMV on Piccadilly (technically it's on Coventry Street but you have to be local or an anal-retentive to know that) and a few other places. Website delivers as far as I know.

I might check out what this guy has to offer. Can't do better than a nice cup of tea.

You might try Clipper Teas too. I've only tried a couple of their varieties but I'm hooked on their Bourbon Vanilla at the moment. They are Fair Trade products and are even available in Tesco.

davros - clipper teas are nice. I've just tried the Green tea which comes in a cylindrical box and I've bought in a health store in Blanchardstown shopping centre. Buying green tea in teabags is a waste of time since it needs larger leaves to get the flavour right.

    Actually an update about www.theteamerchant.ie
It turns out that the website is someone diifferent than the chap in the Irish Times. So, as you can imagine there is a registered
company names issue going on there.
