Could someone please tell me how you down tune a guitar.

Im trying to learn "yesterday" and the tab says to get the correct sound i need to tune it down 1/2 a step ... i havnt got the hang of relative tuning yet , so how is this done using an electric tuner ?

    Mucho gracias !

Quick fix: fret every string at the first fret (=½-step up) and tune that as usual.
But, you should be able to play it just fine in standard tuning. Often, when the guitar is a half-step or full-step down, it's to accomodate the singer's range.

    On an electric tuner tune from low to high D# , G# , C# , F# , A# , D# (sorry, can't find the flat symbol)

Basically a step is two notes, half a step is one note, so tuning down half a step means detuning every string by one note.

Tune the A string to the fourth fret of the E string. Then tune all the other strings the way you would normally based on the A string. And then tune the E string so's that its 5th fret is tuned into A. I hope that makes sense.

just put a capo on the first fret and tune the guitar as normal. Then remove the capo and your half a step down
